Members of Deskonocidos bring us four great hardcore tunes, steeped in dark post-punk with obvious metal influences as well. This 7" is catchy, with wailing female vocals, and melodic riffs lurking behind noisy drums. To be frank, I think this release would have been better with just a bit less guitar noodling, but my tolerance for this particular metal-derived habit is low to begin with, so take this with a grain of salt. Otherwise this is a fantastic release, which is no surprise considering the band's connection with Deskonocidos, and the fact that Lengua Armada Discos is run by Limp Wrist frontman Martin Sorrondeguy. I saw this band recently without having heard them or even of them before and was blown away. Quick switches from straightforward pissed off hardcorepunk to midtempo doom and gloom and a lot of 15 second guitar solos thrown in very tastefully and never too long and annoying. Never heard a record of theirs though, still. Downloading this now, thanks!
